Tinted Moisturizer to Even Out Skin Tone

If your skin tone is uneven, even a little bit, use a tinted moisturizer to even out your skin tone before applying loose powder foundation. Look 15 years younger with concealer and foundation

Want to look 15 years younger? Get a good foundation and concealer. Age spots, red spots and uneven complexions make women appear older. Be careful to not cake your face with these products, but do use enough to cover your imperfections. Start slowly and add more concealer and foundation as it is needed. Be sure to always start with a clean face and moisturizer.

Many women are afraid to use powders, but as I have mentioned before, the new mineral powder foundations on the market are wonderful. If you have never tried them, take a chance, but do purchase a quality product for best results. Visit your independent beauty consultant or cosmetic counter at your finer stores. If you find you do not like the foundation, you can usually return it. Ask before you buy.

Mineral powder foundation with talc, my solution for humid weather foundation

Does this sound like you? The weather's been hot and humid and when getting out of the shower you sweat. You dread putting on your foundation, but it must be done. You don't have a lot of time to get ready for work and the foundation must go on for you to feel your best. Your liquid foundation only slides around and is difficult to apply on your hot face.

I've found that applying my mineral based powder foundation with talc, that it absorbs the excess moisture from sweating after my shower and then my face has a good base instantly for the remainder of my makeup. The talc does not dry my skin, it only absorbs the excess water and that feels wonderful!

To apply, pat the face dry, and as always, apply moisturizer and sunscreen and let them soak in. Again, lightly pat the sweat from your face, then brush on your mineral based powder foundation.

Summer makeup foundation

Summer is here and your skin is probably getting a little tanned, so do not forget to wear a darker foundation to match your summer skin tone. Afterall, why have a tan and then conceal it with lighter foundation?

Do not forget to wear sunscreen under your foundation. As I've mentioned before, 90% of the visible signs of aging comes from exposure to the sun's rays!

Makeup Foundation in a Spray Can - what a mess

Today, makeup foundation no longer only comes in the form of liquid in a tube. The latest foundation I've noticed is foundation in a spray can - not to be confused with foundation airbrushed onto the skin.

Recently, I watched a makeup artist on CBS 11 News spray foundation from a can onto a model's face. The foundation went everywhere - the models hair, up in the air and I'm sure on her apron. The idea sounds great, but I'll stick to my Mary Kay mineral-based powder foundation.

Foundation for a strapless dress

It's your special night out and you are wearing that dazzling strapless dress. For a polished, even skin tone, brush on dry mineral-based powder foundation from your face to the inside of your dress line.

Allow your foundation to set for five minutes or more before dressing. Test for transferability by rubbing the skin at the dress line lightly with a dry cloth. You don't want it to transfer to your clothing, especially if you are wearing white! This tip is not recommended for liquid or pressed powder foundations.
