Today I watched Diana Ross on Oprah and couldn't stop noticing those Diana Ross lips, style of dress, her hair, and her unique angel voice. She's as elegant today (maybe even more), as she was in the 70's when I couldn't get enough of her voice. She's a timeless entertainer!

5 Simple Fashion Tips
- Skinny belts help define the waist.
- Don’t shy away from prints. The cut of an outfit is more important than the print of an outfit.
- If you are self conscious about the size of your waist and feel more comfortable wearing longer shirts, blouses, and tees, then try to avoid tops that hang below the crotch area; otherwise your hips will look larger.
- A rounded hemline on a blouse will give the illusion of longer legs.
- Tops in textured prints, such as animal prints, are great choices for hiding body imperfections.

Moving Away from Traditional Eyeglass Frame Colors
For women with warm skin tones, these could be great choices for you: Peach, bright red, light tortoise, eggshell, khaki, and even copper or gold.
For cool skin tones, try eyeglass frames colors in slate-blue, eggplant, black, maroon, pink, dark tortoise, or olive.
Keep in mind that not all colors look good on all faces. Eyeglass frames can be boring, or they can make a statement about you. Try being bold by moving away from your traditional eyeglass frame colors and experiment with something new!

Are You in a Fashion Rut?
Do you feel like you are in a fashion rut? It's not hard to get there. A fashion rut is something that slowly creeps up on a woman. If you think you are in a fashion rut, consider the following:Color: Look in your closet. What colors do you see in clothing? If you are like most women, you will see a large collection of one or two colors of clothing hanging in your closet. Get out of your comfort zone and consider all the lovely colors found on a color wheel.
If your comfort zone really is blue, think about jazzing things up with purple or violet. If you like beige, add some yellow, gold, or go rich with deep brown and silver for example.
Are you in a blue jeans rut?
Blue jeans...most of us love our jeans, it's the American way, but try not wearing them everyday. Get a pair of comfortable slacks (I especially like the comfort of Dockers) and try kicking around in them one day a week. If you can't move out of jeans, dress them up with a blouse with beautiful sleeves or an attractive neckline.
Women helping women...
I'm sure our readers would love to hear your ideas to help them work their way out of their fashion rut. If you have a fashion tip to share, start by clicking on "Comments" below this post. Thank you! DJ

What blouses look best for bigger stomachs
How to Minimize the Belly with clothing
If you have a protruding belly that you want to minimize with clothing, then choose blouses that fit properly, yet are loose in the belly and hip area.
Empire tops, small vertical striped blouses, blouses gathered above the bust area that drape loosely, unbuttoned jackets over blouses, blouses that do not cling to the body and blouses that fit loosely at the hips all work well.
Avoid belting the waist area. Accessories are used to draw attention to an area, and a belt is an accessory.
Avoid horizontal stripes that visually add width, and blouses that cling to the less desirable parts of the tummy area.
Remember, loose fitting clothing does not mean oversized clothing. Choosing blouses that fit properly at the shoulders, bustline and hips will do more to minimize your appearance that oversized clothing. Oversized clothing will make you look larger… the reverse of what you are trying to accomplish.

Having problems with your Bra?
If you are having problems with your bra try these suggestions...
Straps cut into your shoulders: The band should carry most of the weight, not the straps. Try tightening the band and loosening the straps. If your breast are especially heavy, choose a bra with padded straps. Strapless bras are supported by the band, and strapped bras should be too.
Underwire poking your skin: Try a larger banded bra; your bra is probably too small. With a proper fitting band, the underwire should lay flat against your ribs. If underwires still bother you, choose a bra without the underwire.
Bulging breast: You need to increase the cup size. All of the breast should fit into the cup without bulging out the tops and sides. If your breast are large, try a pre-shaped cup, and bend forward when putting it on. If wearing a half-cupped bra, try on a full cup bra of the same brand, then try on the half cupped bra.
Peek-a-boo: When wearing sweaters or tight fitting blouses, wear a padded bra for a sleek look.
When shopping for a bra, try it on before buying. Size varies with designer.
The breast muscles are not strong enough to continually support the breast. Whether you have small or large breasts, wear a bra as often as possible to slow down gravity's force.

How to Choose a Good Walking Shoe
- As you walk, downward pressure is applied to the arch; therefore, it is important to select a shoe with an arch that supports YOUR arch.
- Take a clean pair of your socks with you when shopping for shoes. If you normally wear a thick sock, using the thin stockings provided at the shoe store will not give you the adequate space needed in the shoe once you get them home.
- Have your foot measured with YOUR socks on your feet.
- Your feet typically differ in size. Choose a shoe that fits the larger foot with a one-half inch space between your largest toe and the end of the inside of the shoe.
- Try both shoes on your feet and walk around the store to make sure they feel comfortable. If they don’t, put them back. Shoes don’t break in, feet are forced in.

Nifty Necklace and Bracelet Holder
I found this nifty necklace and bracelet holder suggestion from Lowes in their weekly newsletter.
Install a wall mounted, straight bar, open ended bath tissue holder on your wall next to your vanity. Then slide your necklaces, bracelets, watches, badges, etc. that you wear frequently on it for easy access.

Swimwear for the Plus Size Woman
When selecting a swimsuit, avoid shiny metallic materials; instead select a matte material.
Choose darker colors for a slenderizing affect, but don't only think only black! There a many lovely colors available in dark blues, green, purples, etc.
Don't be afraid to show a bit of the bustline and don't settle for bland. Select a suit with the front "V" trimmed in small ruffles.
Choose a suit to cover the fanny with high cut comfortable leg openings that hug, but not cut into the top of your thighs.
Don't shop by size, shop for comfort - only you will know the size you wear so don't be afraid to up the size if needed. A suit to small may show more curves than you want.
