What works best - olive oil or store bought hot oil hair treatment?

I've used warm olive oil in my hair, and it makes it feel very soft and bouncy, but I prefer to use a good quality hot oil hair treatment purchased from the store.

My reason is that olive oil is thicker and more difficult to remove than the lighter-oil hair treatments available in stores.
